eBay Buyer Tips
$1 Auctions
Many items on eBay never get brought, for various reason, many of the reasons are described
below. Use our $1 listings to find items about to end on eBay. Always pay
close attention to the shipping and any additional fees. If it seems reasonable
for the item's size and handling needs you might have just found yourself a bargain!
Typos - Misspellings
If you heard this before, there is a reason for it. Typos are great, especially on newly
listed Buy It Now auctions. Often auction listers have typos in their description, this will often lead to these items being overlooked by many. Use our typo search function scour eBay for these typo listings and see what deals you can find!
Best Time To Bid...
It seems the best time to bid on auctions is when you have the least amount of competition.
Trends show that auctions after 1AM EST (10PM PST) - auction traffic slows until about 6AM EST.
Holidays are often slower, combine this with the very late
& early hours of the day you will have some of the least competition typically.
When Buy It Now's Are Best...
Find the newly listed Buy It Now's, the best deals in Buy It Now's are picked up very quickly. If the Buy It Now has been around for more than a day, it's more than likely because no one else thought it was a great deal at the Buy It Now price.
Check Out The Seller
Be sure to review the seller's feedback before bidding. If the seller has a lot of
recent negative feedback, I would suggest skipping his auction. People normally
don't give negative feedback for no reason, the seller could be having serious issues.
Keep Tabs On Your Favorite Sellers.
Whether it's a seller you've found some great bargains through in the past, or just someone who seems to pick items that suit your taste to a tee, you can add that
person to your favorite seller's list. Check in with them often to scoop up any
Buy It Now offerings they might list from week to week. You can also add them
to your favorite sellers list through your My eBay page or immediately after
you leave positive feedback by simply clicking on the link provided.
Gaurantees
Beware of the "no guarantee" or "no returns", think about this way,
what they
are telling you
is if it is not as listed you can't return it,
that may not seem fair,
nor
even ethical, but that is the terms of the
auction and you can not change them if it is listed.
Further more,
some may allow returns,
but only at your expense,
even if it is their
mistake.
Just make sure you factor this into your bidding price.
Read The Fine Print
Often you can find some outrageous deals, but some times you can get stung if you skip reading the fine print. Always fully read the auction's FULL description before
placing a bid!
Watch for the shipping when bidding, some listers will have
1 cent
auctions with very
expensive shipping and handling fees.
Plus make
sure the payment type you wish
to use is accepted (ie paypal)
before bidding.
Follow these tips and your eBay
experience should be more enjoyable and productive!
